Cheapest Month to Fly to Pakistan from the UK
A month-by-month guide to fares, weather and events for flights from the UK to Pakistan, so you can choose the cheapest and best time to go.
The short answer
For most UK departures, the cheapest period is late January to March, followed by September to November. The most expensive are the weeks before Eid, the UK summer holidays and the ten days before Christmas. Prices change from year to year, but this pattern has been consistent.
January to March
The winter wedding rush and Christmas returns are over, so demand drops and fares fall. Weather in Lahore and Islamabad is cool and pleasant. In 2027 Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr fall in February and March, so the cheapest weeks are likely to be late January and the weeks before Ramadan starts. See our Eid 2027 guide.
April to June
Fares climb towards the summer, and Eid al-Adha adds a peak when it falls in this period. Temperatures in Punjab and Sindh rise sharply, with Lahore and Multan often well above 40 degrees by June. Book six to eight weeks ahead.
July and August
This is the peak season. UK schools are on holiday, many families travel for weddings, and fares are at their highest. Monsoon rains arrive across much of Pakistan, which can affect travel inside the country. If you must travel in the summer, book by spring and fly midweek.
September to November
The second cheapest window. The monsoon ends, the heat eases and the weather is pleasant across Punjab and the north. This is a good time for a family visit that does not depend on school holidays.
December
Fares peak in the two weeks before Christmas, then ease after 26 December. Murree and the northern areas can be cold or snowy in winter, which some visitors enjoy. See the Christmas and New Year guide for the best days to fly.
Pakistan's weather by region
Pakistan is a large country and the weather varies. Lahore, Multan and the rest of Punjab are very hot from May to August and pleasant from October to March. Karachi is warm and humid for most of the year. The north, including Murree and the hill areas, is cool in summer and cold in winter, with snow in the coldest months. Plan your month around the region you are visiting as well as the price.
Holidays that move fares
Check both calendars before you pick your dates. In the UK, school half-terms in February, May and October and the long summer holiday push fares up, and Scottish schools break up earlier in the summer than English ones. In Pakistan, Pakistan Day on 23 March, Independence Day on 14 August and Quaid-e-Azam Day on 25 December are public holidays that make local travel busier, and Eid affects everything.
A two-week trip that avoids those dates can cost noticeably less than the same trip across a holiday week.
Ways to pay less in any month
Fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday, compare more than one UK airport, and consider a one-stop airline, which is often cheaper than non-stop. Ask for a quote with flexible dates, because moving a departure by two or three days can change the fare noticeably.
